UN CHIEN ANDALOU is the collection LEANDRO CANO imagines to represent an inheritance that cannot be seen, yet still exists. It emerges from an understanding of Andalusian identity as a form of sensitive authority, a place capable of distorting reality in order to transform it into raw, living emotion. A place of sung truths, twisted verbs, and sharpened metaphors that reveal what lies hidden. A place of ignited passion and cradled rage, where the sacred becomes flesh to transform sorrow into jubilation, jubilation into trance, and trance into ritual.
LEANDRO CANO reconstructs the history he was never told and proposes a journey to a place that cannot be seen with the eyes alone. Materialities for the Andalusia I never saw, but lived; satin, cotton, wool crepe, lace, natural hair, hand embroidery, and antique Spanish textiles form the body of a collection whose most radical gesture lies in dimension itself: sacred mountains as portals into another space and time. Ceramic couture becomes a language for the impossible, treated as textile rather than matter. Combed felt generates universes of subtlety that demand contemplation. Silver jewelry and crocheted masks fantasize about imposition, penance, and silence. Materials and techniques through which unveiling time itself becomes part of the dialogue, recreating a memory that was never told.
