James Moore was born in Brooklyn in 1936; since young he cultivates his passion for photography and after completing his studies at the New School for Social Research he starts to work as assistant for many important photographers. In 1962 he begins his long-lasting collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar, creating some of its most famous and celebrated covers. James Moore built his imagery through close-ups and a marked theatricality: his love and extreme sensibility for details and accessories result in combinations that are never banal and always surprisingly narrative. The 28 pictures in the catalogue are both b/w on matte paper and color photos on glossy paper: the fine quality of the prints assures a vintage-like feeling for the viewer, offering the best way to enjoy the beauty of James Moore’s work.
