Carla Sozzani and Sara Sozzani Maino invited Riccardo Scaburri, Alberto Petillo and Alice Curti, creatives of Lessico Familiare, to exhibit their collections and narrate their domestic lexicon.
From January 13th to February 12th, a temporary exhibition is set up in the spaces of the Fondazione Sozzani at via Tazzoli 3 with garments from the latest Cocktail collection that will interact with different, ever-changing languages each week. It goes from familiar lexicon, with the opening défilé, to material lexicon, with the collection called to dialogue with Aponteboretti’s vases. Then it becomes musical, with a concert by Gilda Manfrin, and finally imaginary, with an installation by GianMarco Porru. People and languages that have interacted with the world of Lessico Familiare since the beginning and that here show how important is the contamination between arts and dialogue, never forced, always natural.

Lessico Familiare is a home clothing project born out of boredom and joy. Designed and assembled at home, it is an attempt to translate one’s familiar lexicon into disassembled and reassembled garments, often magnified. Preserve the memory by curling up the yellowed curtains and mending the damp cloths. It is one-season, an in-progress tale where garments come and go with no rush. The aim is a sort of lexical continuity, neither new nor nostalgic. The name is a clear tribute to Natalia Ginburg’s “Lessico Famigliare” and to the families we were born into, the ones we choose and the ones we are building, undefined and precious.
