On the occasion of BIG, Biennale Internazionale Grafica, Fondazione Sozzani hosts Lorenzo Petrantoni who presents Ed è subito ieri: conflitto tra cleptomania d’artifizi ed esplosione di graficismi innescato da Monsieur Petrantoni intento a conferire show figurati, intuizioni visive, passati contemporanei. The exhibition is dedicated to figures of the nineteenth and twentieth century, revisited with a careful and innovative look. The artist gives new life and new meanings to images that would otherwise be buried between the pages of ancient volumes, transforming them into real icons of the present. They are works out of time, made on flags, prints and other objects.

Lorenzo Petrantoniwas born in Genoa in 1970. After studying graphic arts in Milan, he moved to France to work as Art Director in Young&Rubicam. After his return in Italy, he continued working with some of the greatest communication agencies. He distanced himself from the advertising world in order to fully dedicate his time to his illustrating career. His illustrations are inspired by his passion for graphic design and his fascination for the 18th century. He uses images from old textbooks and dictionaries that he discoveres while browsing booksellers. Lorenzo Petrantoni has worked with international magazines and has been exhibited in many shows all around the world.
