1000 Stories (0 to 100)
October 2026, from Sunday 11th to Friday 16th, from 12PM to 5PM | TO BOOK A DATE AND/OR TIME, PLEASE CONTACT galleri@fondazionesozzani.org
1 hour | €30: materials included + a free Fabriano Boutique slim pen, engraved with the VivienneOh logo
1000 Stories (0 to 100) is a five-year international art project involving 1,000 participants aged 0 to 100 across South Korea and Italy. Beginning with the question, “What is the moment in your life that you want to leave behind as a single painting?”, the project brings individual memories together in a large collective “Life Archive”. During the workshop, each participant illustrates the moment they most wish to remember on postcard-sized art paper provided by Fabriano, an Italian paper brand. On the back of the card, they write how old they were at the time and why the memory remains deeply meaningful to them. The project was initiated during the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition at the Seoul Art Center (2022/2023) and continues through Milano Korean Week 2026. A book is planned for publication in 2027 in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, featuring the 1,000 participants as co-authors. All workshop materials are included, along with a complimentary Fabriano Boutique slim pen engraved with the VivienneOh logo.

Korean Painting: Painting Camellias
Monday October 12th, at 2PM
intermediate, 2 hours | €70
Korean Painting: Painting Camellias is a traditional Korean colour painting (Chaeseokhwa) workshop focused on depicting camellia flowers. The activity uses ink, hanji (mulberry paper), natural pigments and seokchae, mineral pigments derived from natural stones. The session begins with a 30-minute demonstration of baejeop, the traditional mounting process in which hanji is backed with another layer of paper or fabric to stabilise and preserve the artwork. Participants then outline flowers and leaves over a preparatory sketch using ink and a traditional brush, practising brush speed, pressure and linework. Using the barim technique, they blend and layer colours across the petals to create gradation, depth and dimension. The work concludes with refined outlines and detailed painting, including pistils and stamens, using seokchae mineral pigments for rich, deep hues.

With Tradition: Mother-of-Pearl Workshop
October 2026, from Sunday 11th to Tuesday 13th, at 2PM and 4PM
beginners and all levels, 30 minutes | €20
With Tradition: Mother-of-Pearl Workshop is a one-day craft workshop that reinterprets traditional Korean norigae (pendant ornaments) with a contemporary sensibility, using mother-of-pearl (nacre) pieces and decorative elements. After an introduction to the heritage and aesthetics of norigae and mother-of-pearl craftsmanship, participants choose what to make: a keyring in shapes inspired, for example, by the traditional gat hat or porcelain, or a mother-of-pearl mirror for everyday use. They arrange and attach mother-of-pearl sticker pieces to their selected base, creating a personal composition. Finally, they attach the hardware rings needed to turn the piece into a functional accessory to take home on the same day.
