THREAD
PERMANENT PROJECT
Thread is a living atelier at the heart of the Fondazione Sozzani’s permanent circular fashion project, a place where tailoring takes center stage once again. The tailoring table is the heart of the project: it is here that garments are created or reinvented, and it is here that stories are sewn together. A pattern maker works at the tailoring table, positioned in the center of the space, where garments are born or transformed. Surrounding the tailoring hub, there is a carefully curated selection of vintage garments belonging to the Fondazione Sozzani’s NN Studio fashion project. Each piece has been chosen for its potential to be reborn, transformed, reinterpreted, or modified and tell a new story: visitors can choose the model, cut, and fabric and witness the creative process. They can participate and become part of the creation and co-authors of garments that tell their story. Each garment is born from a conversation and ends up as something unique, tailor-made for them, designed to tell the story of the wearer.
Thread is a tribute to time and identity. It is the value of doing, the beauty of being unique. Thread is also a shared atelier, a collective tailor’s workshop, where young businesses and new talents can express their vision through the craft of sewing. Here, every guest is invited to cut, shape, sew, and express their vision. Tools are shared, space is opened up, and thread—as always—unites. Each collaboration is a dialogue between identity and craft, between heritage and intuition. By embracing these emerging paths, Thread celebrates not only what is created, but also those who are shaping the future.
